The word approach designates that action that consists of a ship boarding another with the mission clear and direct of ramming it to fight it. This situation often occurs at the behest of a dispute of an attack and by case it will imply that those who board the ship take control of it once they have managed to neutralize its occupants.
On the other hand, the same concept is also used to designate to the collision, touch or arrival of another ship, although not with the objective of attacking or decimating it but only approaching it.
It should be noted that the boarding of one ship to another can occur as mentioned above in a context of war, and then, the marine forces plan to board a ship to capture it, to take it out of action or directly to eliminate it as part of the process.
Or failing that, the approach may not have to watch with a military dispute and be the consequence of the intention of a pirate or any other type of criminal to seize some loot that has been inside the vessel in question. And also the approach can have a preventive and control mission to precisely avoid the
smuggling in the waters.Meanwhile, the approach can be performed in various ways or through different techniques such as: anchor (when the anchor element is used to board the boat), to the large one (the approach takes place side by side), by avante (the boarding is done from the bow or from the stern), in good (when the ship is rammed from the side), down lee (the goal is to win land along the opposing ship until the stick can be pulled sideways into direction outside the other ship) and from roa to roa (the approach is made from the bow of one ship to the bow of the other, so the keels of both ships will be arranged in a straight).
