The term self-conscious is used especially when you want to realize that an individual presents a complex generally associated with some emotional deficiency or a physical defect, among the most common causes of complex development.
At the behest of the psychology, which is one of the disciplines that most addresses this issue, a complex refers to the disagreement that a person has with one or more aspects inherent to the person or life of her, as long as that perception of the same triggers in her feelings from disabilityIn other words, they do not feel capable of developing this or that activity because they simply feel less than the others because of the complex.
For example, the psychoanalytic current considers that complexes normally arise in childhood, whereas, as it is a truly disturbing issue for the person, it tends to displace and repress it, although of course, they remain active and at any time they can emerge to affect its conduct.
While, psychotherapy
It is one of the main tools when dealing with the issue of complexes since it facilitates the restructuring of the personality of the self-conscious individual through transference. What the therapist will do is locate himself in the various figures of the psyche and offers the patient a new experience of the same that will allow you to attribute new information to the complex. Although this will not replace the foregoing, it will modify it to such an extent that the complex does not weaken the individual as much as possible.Among the most popular complexes the Oedipus complex which consists of the attraction affective behavior of a child for his mother, and on the contrary, the manifest rejection of the figure of his father. For example, the child who suffers from it will be very possessive with his mother.
The concept that is opposed to the self-conscious is that of insurance, because whoever is or is safe will not be afraid to face any situation because he is comfortable and aware of the capabilities he has.
