A person who appreciates another values her virtues, has esteem and consideration for the other. There is a feeling of sympathy between two people who appreciate each other and establish an interpersonal relationship that can have very different degrees.
When there is a feeling of appreciation, there is usually a cordial but relatively superficial bond between two people. There is no deep relationship between two people, in that love there is love of friendship or partner.
