The sugar is a substance with a sweet taste and white color, crystallized into tiny grains, which is obtained primarily from beet, in the case of countries with temperate climates and in those with tropical climatic characteristics of sugarcane, from the concentration and crystallization of its juice.

Regarding this question, sugar does not provide any type of essential nutrient to the body, we must say that it is healthy in the appropriate dose and compliant, that is, if someone consumes large amounts of sugar, they may suffer from a health problem related to that excess, such is the case of diabetes.
Glucose, or sugar, gives you Energy to our brain and body, but of course, if it is consumed excessively, a series of relevant problems will be unleashed added to the aforementioned diabetes, such as obesity, tooth decay, high blood pressure, among the most common.
To reduce the problems that sometimes excess sugar consumption generates, because we must not forget that according to doctors it is a substance that generates a lot of addiction, and that many people cannot control it, is that products have been devised to replace it, such as sweeteners or food and drinks with zero sugars, or that have a reduced presence.
Meanwhile, to point out a benefit, we must say that sugar is a natural tranquilizer, since it nourishes the nervous system human, because neurons feed on glucose, thus generating calm anxiety, tension and induction to sleep.
Classes of sugars
There are different types of sugar, among which the following stand out: White sugar (contains 99.5% sucrose), refined sugar (it has between 99.8 and 99.9% sucrose), brown or black sugar (It is crystallized and centrifuged but it is not refined, therefore it maintains a dark coloration) and blond sugar (It has less darkness than brown sugar and a higher percentage of sucrose).
In the ranking of sugar producing countries, Brazil ranks number one followed by others like Argentina, China and the United States.
Use in gastronomy
When addressing this substance, we cannot avoid referring to the gastronomic use of sugar since it is undoubtedly an unmissable star in the elaboration of many edible preparations, especially desserts.
The characteristic sweetness of this substance obviously adds to that of these typical dishes that are ingested after meals.
It is also widely used to add flavor to the most popular hot beverages such as coffee, tea, mate, among others. By adding sugar, they are freed from their original rather bitter or sugar-free flavor.
When sugar is heated above its decomposition point, we obtain what is known as candy, a light brown substance with a heavy consistency that hardens after a few minutes. Caramel is used especially to accompany desserts such as flan.
