The basic rules of spelling are:
"B" is used in words ending in bundo, bunda, ble and bility: vagabond, tremebunda, amiable, stability.
The "b" is used when it is followed by a consonant: subdirector, obstacle, white, rough.
The forms of conjugation corresponding to verbs ending in bir, are written with "b" except three, boil, serve and live.
Write "v" in compound words that begin with villa or vice: vice president, Villanueva.
Voices ending in viro, vira, ivoro, are noted with "v": reviro, Elvira, insectivore.
After b, d and n, write "v": subversive, warning, investigation.
Write "v" after "ol": solvency, wrap, dust.
When the words begin with "ia, ie, ua, ue, ui", they carry "h": hiatus, ice, huasteco, smell, escape.
All conjugations of the verb have and do carry "h": hube, han, will have, done, done.
When words end in aged, ancio, encia ^ encio, uncía, unció, they are written with "c": gain, stale, essence, silence, resignation, announcement; Except Hydrangea and Craving.
Write with "c" nouns ending in tion, derived from words ending in "do, to" such as: story - relationship.
Write "s" in adjectives that end in osa, bear: ambitious, religious.
Write "s" in nouns ending in zion, which come from adjectives ending in so, sible, sivo and sor: extensive extension, visible vision, expansive expansion, reviewer, revision.

The adjectives whose ending is "oz" or "az", carry "z": speedy, truthful.

The "r" is doubled in compound words like: king, viceroy, lightning, lightning rod.
