The word cylinder is a term that admits several uses in our language, while we will begin by addressing the most widespread one that occurs at the request of the scope of geometry; here the cylinder is a fquadric figure that has been conformed by the displacement parallel to a straight line (generatrix) and along a flat curve, which can be either closed or open, and is known as a directrix.

It should be noted that the generatrix, as a consequence of the movement that he proposes, gives way to the geometric figure; It can be curved or straight and the shape of the figure will depend on this.
