We understand by precursor any person or object that means the first step or the advancement of a series of elements, situations or personalities that will follow. The precursor, moreover, is not only the one who initiates the chain of successions but is also the one who prints the features generals that will be repeated in those objects, phenomena or situations that follow. Normally, when we speak of a forerunner, the idea of "advanced" that can be a person or object in an environment in which nothing like it still existed is implicit.
The notion of a pioneer is often applied to people.
