The term Prophet has two uses. On the one hand, he is called a prophet individual who is capable of predicting future events, what we normally refer to as clairvoyance or prophecy. In this sense, the prophet enjoys a capacity of perception extrasensory that allows you through different means totally remote from science, to receive information about certain events to take place or about the future that will hold the people.
