Argentine political party led by the new president Mauricio Macri
Republican Proposal, better known as PRO, is a political party relatively new Argentine, that is, its creation dates from the year 2005, and therefore if we compare it with the two most traditional traditions of the country, radicalism and Peronism, whose origins date back to the last century, the PRO, is considered as a group politics very young.
But despite this youth politics, a few months ago he managed to hit the ground running, when his greatest exponent, Leader and representative, Mauricio Macri, won the presidency of the country and another political figure of the group, María Eugenia Vidal, became the new governor of one of the most relevant Argentine districts such as the Province of Buenos Aires, displacing the hegemonic power of the Peronism that ruled it for decades.
The origin of PRO is clearly from Buenos Aires, that is, it was born in the city of Buenos Aires and it was in this district where it acquired relevance, popular support and launched its national projection. It was the result of the merger of the political groups Compromiso para el Cambio (led by Macri) and Recrear para el Crecimiento (led by the economist Ricardo Lopez Murphy).
It was through PRO that Mauricio Macri acceded to a Deputy seat for the city of Buenos Aires in 2005 and in 2007 he became head of government of the city of Buenos Aires, a position for which he is re-elected in 2011.
Most representative leaders
Throughout ten years of history, PRO, has given way to the appearance in scene of many political leaders, who today, with Macri at the head of the national government have acquired great relevance, such is the case of the current vice president Gabriela Michetti, the current Head of Government of the city of Buenos Aires Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, the Deputy Head of the Buenos Aires government Diego Santilli and the aforementioned Governor of Buenos Aires María Eugenia Vidal.
Presidential election 2015: alliance with radicalism and civic coalition
In 2015, PRO made an alliance with leaders of radicalism, such as Ernesto Sanz, and the coalition civic like Elisa Carrió, who gives way to the creation of the Cambiemos alliance, which will be the political group by which Macri wins the presidency of the Nation on November 22 as part of the Ballotage.
The president of the party is the businessman and political leader Humberto Schiavoni and his trademark is yellow.
