The term twilight refers to that interval of time before sunrise or after sunset during which the sky is illuminated. This illumination or twilight occurs because sunlight illuminates the upper layers of the atmosphere, then, the light diffuses and expands in all directions by the action of the molecules of the air up to the observer and thus the illumination of the entire environment.
So, as we mentioned, formally, we find the Twilight morning, also known as aurora or dawn and that occurs in the morning before sunrise and on the other hand with twilight evening that always happens after sunset.
The duration twilight will depend on the time of year in which it is, the day, more specifically and the latitude held by the observer. If the observer is located at the equator, the duration will be almost the same throughout the year, but if the observer is located located at the earth's pole, to calculate the duration it must be taken into account that the day and night last approximately six months. And when it comes to intermediate latitudes, a typical twilight value will be about half an hour.
At twilight, the intense red light will be due to the scattering of light directly caused by the atmosphere and is the easiest to perceive because light travels greater distances within the atmosphere, while violet and blue colors, on the other hand, are scattered more poorly and practically do not reach the observer.
On the other hand, and at the urging of poetics, the term twilight has a special significance, since it is used to account for the decline of a person or issue, being very common the expression, Juan is in the twilight of his life.
