The word cruelty It has a widespread use in our language and an extremely negative charge since through it it is designated to that human action that is characterized and stands out for being very inhuman and cruel.
It is said that something is cruel when it presents a lot violence, is hard and evokes the gory.
The word is also used to designate the absence of compassion that someone manifests regarding the suffering of his peers and his neighbor, and even more, he delights in the suffering of the other.
It should be noted that the American Association of Psychiatry consider cruelty within the typical disorders on the conduct that people can suffer. Of course and as with any other psychiatric disorder, it will be necessary to treat it through psychotherapy that help the individual who suffers from it to unblock those issues that have caused in him that predisposition and enjoyment towards the cruelty. Now, in those most serious and extreme cases, therapy can be accompanied by some type of medicine and isolation, especially if the person unfolds actions that can certainly harm the lives of the other individuals with whom they coexists.
There are countless ways of exercising cruelty as well as recipients of it, meanwhile, one of the most common turns out to be the mistreatment or animal cruelty that consists precisely in displaying behaviors that cause an animal pain and stress. It is worth mentioning that this cruelty can manifest itself from negligence in care to premeditated murder.
As a consequence of the proliferation of animal violence, there are currently many organizations who are concerned with fighting for the rights of animals and make aware in this sense to the population. They insist, for example, on responsible ownership of animals and of course condemn abandonment.
Meanwhile, a person who enjoys doing harm to others and also with the suffering that he proffers will be called cruel.
The concept that is opposed is that of goodness, because it refers to the quality of good and designates all that spontaneous inclination to do good.
