At our language we use the word vice to designate those habits, practices or traditions that in the society or community in general are not well seen at all since they imply some behavior or manifestation lacking in moral, degrading or deviant. Among the typical cases we can cite: crime, obscene and lustful practices and violence.
Also, it is common for some to use this concept to designate the defect or custom, bad and negative, of course, that an individual presents and that is characteristic, due to its recurrent practice, in its personality or way of acting. Maria has the habit of biting her nails. Juan has a drinking habit that he no longer controls. Mary's son has the habit of swearing at family gatherings.
But undoubtedly the use that we attribute the most to this term is to designate that special preference that is considered something and that then leads us to consume or use it in a constant way and bordering on abuse in some extreme cases.
This situation usually occurs with psychoactive drugs such as marijuana and cocaine and with alcohol and tobacco. Such is the dependency generated by the aforementioned that it will make it very difficult for the person to stop consuming them. Sometimes even one treatment doesn't do it.
The main danger What is it about that a consumption of this type become a vice are the hyper negative consequences for the health of the consumer. Cardiac, behavioral problems, damage to the nervous systemare some of the conditions that can be aroused by the abuse of these vices.
On the other hand, in the right, we find a reference for the term and that maintains that vice is that lack or error found, either in a public document or writing or in some administrative act, due to example.
Meanwhile, the opposite concept to vice is that of virtue, because virtue is precisely that personal quality that a person has and that leads him to act in a correct and good way forever.
