The rare term is a qualifying adjective that serves to characterize an element or person as different, different, strange. Normally, anything that does not follow the common rules or parameters is considered rare. For example, it is rare for a man to wear skirts or for a car have the shape of TV. The condition of rarity can be social (that is, shared by the whole society) or individual (that is, a parameter belonging to a particular person in relation to the way he has to understand the world or the reality).
When we speak of an element or person as rare, it tends to denote a certain derogatory or pejorative tinge. This has to do basically with the fact that the human being puts first of all certain distrust or I am suspicious about what they do not understand or consider different. Unfortunately, this attitude It is the one that has given rise to all the racist and xenophobic movements in history that considered that anyone who was strange was dangerous, threatening and therefore should be exterminated. In other words, he who is rare prints true
fear or trust in the rest of the people who are guided by the socially established parameters. The term rare can also be applied to different, unique, original elements, in which case we speak of rarity rather than rare. A rarity can be a unique piece within a style or a very particular element that is out of tune with the average of the other elements. For example, a lamp from another era may today be a rarity since surely the design and the technology are completely different. This notion of rarity has a more positive tinge than the earlier mentioned use of the word rare. Here, the rarity is what gives the object a unique value.
