The concept of gift is undoubtedly very common and much more complex than is supposed because it always refers to the existence of a type of link between two or more parties. The gift is an object or an attention that one person gives to another for various reasons, either to congratulate them on a achievement, because it is a special date in which a specific situation is commemorated or a gift can also be given due to sad circumstances, as a way of telling the other that they are accompanying them. The gift is therefore a representation specific relationship or bond that exists between two people and that can demonstrate a certain level of commitment and confidence.
The tradition Giving gifts in certain situations and to certain people is a custom that even the most primitive societies already possessed. This custom is based on the notion that the giving of a gift represents the establishment of a type of relationship with the person who receives it. In the same way that the person who receives a gift should feel honored to receive such an object or attention, most traditions assume that this gift must be reciprocated in some particular way to demonstrate to the other person that the social bond is conformed in a solid.
Today, in most societies on the planet, gift giving is a common act and almost every day that does not really mean waiting for specific situations. Due to the existence of markets for consumption of great size and to be most of the societies immersed in a capitalist system that implies the permanent purchase of products, giving gifts and gifts is undoubtedly something that is observed in a permanent. Even in many cases the obligation The social nature of giving a gift to someone is such that many people end up doing it with individuals they do not like or simply following a rule of supposed social behavior.
There are situations and moments of the year that have already been understood as special moments for people to consume and give gifts in an almost uncontrolled way, for example the days of the Mother, the Father, the Child, Christmas, etc. All these days clearly lose their main objective which is to celebrate a specific situation and end up transforming into mass consumption events.
The gift in question can take many different forms, the imagination is almost endless. Although many gifts are purchased products (which can still be varied and go from a small item such as a keychain to a car), many others can be handmade, even made by the same person who is giving gifts (as was done in the most primitive societies). It is considered that while artisan gifts tend to be cheaper or involve less expense, these are more significant since they are made with greater sentiment towards the person who receives them.
