The notion of a WAN network is relatively recent, having emerged in the last years of the 20th century and since then clearly changing the technology of communications known to that time. When we talk about WAN networks we are referring to those networks that can still be established through many kilometers of distance without there being a fixed connection between the connecting ports. The acronym WAN comes from English as most of the acronym from the field of technology and refers to the concept of wide area network which means wide area network, giving just the idea of a network that has scope much wider and larger than that of a wired network. WAN networks are established on satellite or radio waves, so they do not require connection physical and concrete.
From the moment it appeared in the world of new technologies and communications, the network idea, many different kinds of interactions between different gadgets at the same time arose. Until the moment in which a wider and unlimited network of connections began to be developed, the most common and well-known networks were those that allowed to connect or enter a
exchange communicative within specific and determined limits, for example, within a specific metropolitan area, within a virtual campus or even only within a room of a house. The WAN network came to change this situation since one of the main elements that characterize it is the fact that it provides its users with an unlimited geographical extension. This is so because WAN networks can connect different local networks OR LANs (local area network) that would otherwise be isolated and unable to communicate with each other. Typically, the most common use for WANs is when connecting through network services. Internet users from different parts of the world using precisely this high and wide-ranging technology.
