In the world of politics there's a event that arouses a special interest from the population of a country and the means of communication. This event is the debate presidential.
Mechanics of debate
Generally in these debates the candidates for president of government they expose their political programs before the televised audience in order to obtain electoral victory.
These debates are led by a moderator, who raises a series of questions for the candidates to address. know their ideology and all those measures that they intend to incorporate in the case of being elected by the citizens.
During these debates, the general lines of the candidates are addressed, that is, their views on the most relevant issues for society as a whole (health, education, infrastructure, taxes, territorial issues, etc.).
In addition to presenting a series of proposals, the candidates dialectically confront their rival. Usually one of them is in power and the other is in opposition.
Aspects related to communication
In these debates there are a series of elements that play a very relevant role. Some of them are the following:
- The candidate's non-verbal language is a factor of utmost importance. Thus, the gestures in front of the cameras, the tone of voice, the dress or the personal image are elements that influence the decisions of the voters, especially among the undecided.
- The capacity of persuasion, the oratorical skills, the sense of humor or the ingenuity in the reply are also an element of utmost importance.
- The team of advisers of each candidate intervenes in the technical preparation of the debates and issues of all kinds are taken into account (decoration, colors, possible tics of the candidates, support material to reinforce the arguments or phrases that may impact the viewers).
The political content of the debate and all the elements that intervene in it are subsequently analyzed. by journalists, members of the public and experts, who provide a general assessment of the result of the same. Normally there is usually no clear winner and it is very common for some media to affirm that one has been the winner and others maintain the opposite.
Presidential debates are a tradition in most countries and some of them have an international interest, especially the debate between the candidates for the presidency of the United States.
