In a sense literal denominator is who gives or gives a specific name to something, that is, gives it a name. In this sense and in the context of technological change in which we have lived in recent years, there is a phenomenon related to the name, naming. It is, in a nutshell, about creating a trademark. Naming is more than just putting a name to an entity or a service, since it is subject to a series of techniques to make the brand more attractive to consumers.
The denominator in mathematics
Denominator is a term proper to math and it is very common in various operations. In the study of fractions, it is necessary identify two elements: the numerator and the denominator. In fraction 3/4, the numerator is the number 3 and the denominator is 4. This means that in a portion made up of four equal parts of something, three of them are chosen.
The common and different denominator in operations with fractions
In fraction problems, fractions can be added or subtracted with a common denominator or with a different denominator. In the first case, the operation is simple (the numerators are added or subtracted and the denominator number remains the same)
If the added fractions have different numbers in their denominator the procedure is more difficult and what you have to do is obtain a common denominator, also known as the least common multiple or with its acronym m.c.m. To do this, the following procedure must be followed: the denominators are divided by the Prime number less than gives an exact division and the number obtained is m. c. m. In other words, in an operation with fractions with a denominator other than m. c. m is the least of their common multiples.
Shared data and the term's progress towards everyday use and application
The reduction of several fractions with different denominators in another fraction equivalent with a common denominator is a basic operation in the learning mathematical. In this sense, this mathematical concept is transferred to language current and talk about the common denominator between different things or aspects. This means that different realities share similar things and what they share becomes their common denominator.
This idea is very useful to explain very diverse phenomena. Let's think of three people in difficult situations (one does not have a job, another owes a lot of money, and the third urgently needs to sell his house). Each case is different but they have a common denominator: the three individuals need money.
