Breakfast is the first meal that a person eats in their daily life. Breakfast is the first consumption energy that a person performs after spending several hours without eating (that is, after sleeping). Breakfast is considered for this very reason as the moment of greatest importance in regards to the feeding daily life of each subject as it represents the conclusion the relaxation period and the beginning of new activities.
Completion of the period of rest and fasting
The name breakfast has its explanation in the idea that it represents, as has been said, the end of the period of rest and fasting. It is therefore the time to break fast, or to leave the fast. As the person needs in the first hours of the day a good intake of Energy, breakfast is usually quite important. Many specialists recommend making breakfast a varied meal, rich in protein, carbohydrates and other essential nutrients for proper daily function.
How should a complete and healthy breakfast be?
Normally, a breakfast consists of two or three central elements that can be complemented with other optional or not so common items. In this sense, the central base of almost every breakfast is a liquid (hot infusion or cold liquid), tea, coffee with milk, chocolate, cooked mate, among others, and that is accompanied by some solid food such as toast, bills, cookies, sandwich, etc. Among the not so common but equally important elements we can find a variety of fruits, fruit juices, hearty cakes, eggs, cheese, ham or other cold cuts and many more foods.
Glucose and its close relationship with energy
Breakfast is a great supplier of glucose for our body because having breakfast raises glucose values, basically because of what is ingested in this meal and that we already indicated. When we have breakfast eating what we indicate, the blood glucose value rises and our body works much better.
Not eating breakfast or doing it in an unsatisfactory way affects development and performance
When the person does not eat breakfast or does it poorly, he will have a lower performance compared to those who have eaten a good breakfast. For this situation it is very important that children are taught to eat a good breakfast every day.
Variations in breakfast according to regions, customs and activities
According to the region of the planet, breakfasts can vary completely. While in much of the world Western breakfast (such as the one described above) has prevailed over other more traditional forms, You can still find breakfasts with ease in which soups, broths, salty dishes and even meats are present. This is mainly related to two elements: on the one hand, with the type of food available in the region. On the other hand, with the nutritional needs of the population according to the activities carried out, when weather, to the ground, etc.
The theme of the activities that the person regularly performs must be taken into account when designing the most efficient breakfast. An athlete, for example, will demand a breakfast adapted to the tremendous physical exhaustion that he will perform and will be different from the one that an office worker will ingest who will surely spend the rest of his day sitting and without a lot physical activity.
Generalized decline, lack of energy, bad mood, poor physical and intellectual performance, consequences of not eating a good breakfast
Anyway and beyond these issues that can make a breakfast vary from one person to another or from one place in the world to another, the highlights of this first meal of the day is that it is always present and does not pass it by, since consuming it or not, it will not give the same in the short and in the long term. Generalized decline, lack of energy, bad mood, low physical and intellectual performance are some of the most negative consequences of not eating breakfast.
After an average of eight hours of rest and in which therefore there was no type of food, it is essential that the person eat and drink something, to wake up and also to gain energy to help you develop all the activities planned or proposed in the day.
