Return is the act by which we get something back. It is a non-specialized word and does not pertain to any specific topic or situation. Repayment is an action related to any aspect of ordinary life.
We interact with people, we have social and economic ties. We give things and we also receive. In the economic activity It is very common that there are circumstances in which the idea of return appears. When buying an object, sometimes we are not completely satisfied and we can return it, we deliver the purchase receipt and receive in exchange the money we have paid. Refund is in this case a service offered by some establishments. They are not required to do so. In fact, in certain stores it is announced that returns are not allowed.
There are laws that protect consumers and establish the procedures in which there is the right to the return of the goods that have been acquired. It is important that the consumer meet with precision whether or not you have the right to a refund.
If we leave an item for someone to use temporarily, we await its return. We have done a favor and this implies that there has to be a refund, the moment we receive back what we gave back.
The return mechanism also appears in the relationship between individuals and banks. Banks lend money and the amount must be returned with an interest surcharge. It is a contractual agreement, in which the conditions and deadlines are specified.
In most countries there are tax systems that regulate citizens' taxes. They make an income statement for the income that they obtain in their economic activity. Subsequently, the corresponding finance department performs calculations to assess whether citizens they have to pay taxes or if, on the contrary, the state is obliged to return an amount of money to them. In the latter case, the so-called return of income is given.
Although it is in commercial activities where the majority of return procedures take place, in personal treatment relationships the same notion also exists. If we do someone a favor, we have the hope that, in some way, we will be rewarded in the future. We believe that there must be some type of return that serves to thank or value the initial favor. It does not have to be a material or economic return, it can be something symbolic; A simple gratitude or a small gesture is a method of reestablishment.
