Traditionally, the adjective 'Santa' is used to describe those women who in the history of the religion Christianity have shown to maintain a direct relationship with God and with his commandments. Clearly, the holy word is equivalent of saint and it is undoubtedly very important for the mentioned religion since we find numerous examples of holy women who generated miracles or who dedicated their lives to the service of God.
One of the most elementary characteristics of any holy woman is the fact of having reached the degree of beatitude, which is achieved after the corresponding process of canonization. This process implies that the authority maximum of the Church, the Pope, establishes that the woman in question can be worthy of to integrate the universal cult of religion and thus become a representative of God in any part of the world.
Always for a woman or a man to reach the level of holy and holy respectively, a life of full devotion to God and to his son, Jesus Christ, must be proven. This devotion can be made present through works of solidarity, the choice of a secluded life and dedicated to the Lord, or the defense of the
values Christians in situations where doing so involves a risk for life (the latter characters then becoming martyrs of the Church).Normally, both saints and holy women are for him. Catholicism the step before contact with God, which is why many thousands of believers turn to them to ask for help or support as well as to thank and ask forgiveness.
Among the best known saints of the Christian religion we must mention Santa Ana, Santa Isabel, Santa Brígida, Santa Cecilia, Santa Genoveva, Santa Teresa, Santa Lucia, Santa Mariana, Santa Rita, Santa Rosa, Santa Susana and, of course, Santa María with all its various representations.
