Face that expresses a certain feeling or emotion
The concept of countenance is in close association with the face or face of a person because it precisely designates that face that expresses a certain feeling or emotion, among the most common joy, happiness, sadness, fear, hatred, disappointment, anguish, among so many others.
People communicate through our faces
People tend to give great importance to the countenance of our interlocutors in any way interaction, personal, professional, etc., because it gives us a complete idea of how that person feels at that moment. People undoubtedly communicate through our faces.
So if we are talking to a friend and her face shows us sadness, we will know that she is not having a good time and we will probably ask her what is happening to her and try to help her.
Something similar happens if we see someone with a happy face, we will know a priori that that person is happy, content and that therefore at that moment they do not have any problem that afflicts them.
We must also emphasize that there are people whose countenance changes from one moment to another, either because they receive a pleasant or unpleasant news, or because they see a person who causes them happiness, or on the contrary, someone who causes them hate.
If seeing a person causes happiness, the countenance will be presented with a smile and with the eyes with shine, while if you see someone who is not appreciated, the countenance will accompany that emotion with the frown pucker.
Poor health also influences the face
We must also indicate that health has a decisive influence on the definition of a semblance. If someone is sick, suffering from some condition, he will have a bad countenance, which denotes that he is suffering from a bad moment of health. Let's think of someone who has the flu, her face is characterized by presenting small eyes, glassy, his nose will appear red, his skin color will appear whiter than normal, among others physical signs.
Likewise, the concept of semblance can be applied to things, objects, situations, elements, to indicate the appearance positive or negative they have. "My brother's business doesn't look good."
