It is known as mathematics or mathematics, as appropriate to custom, the study of all those properties and relationships that involve abstract entities, such as numbers and geometric figures, through exact basic notations and the logic reasoning.

Mathematical theory manifests itself in a small number of given truths, better known as axioms, from which a whole theory can be inferred.

Like any study, mathematics arose as a consequence of some needs that man began to experience, among them, making the calculations inherent to the commercial activity and of course, doing them well so that it could continue to exist, to measure the earth and to be able to predict some phenomena astronomical. Many people suppose that these deficiencies were what caused the current subdivision of mathematics, into the study of quantity, structure, change and space.

Most of the objects of study of mathematics, numbers, geometry, the problems, the analysis, are all questions that we are or are not scholars or fanatics of the matter we must know because of one or another way they are related to our daily activity, even when our profession or work is well away from solving problems mathematicians. For example, for a housewife, it is extremely important to have mathematical notions to solve or decide on purchases at the supermarket, among others.

Also, to achieve a correct description, analysis and prediction of some phenomena, mathematics is necessary, which will help us with these questions through branches such as probability and the statistics so functional when it comes to these issues.

Euclides and Thales of Miletus are some of the scholars who have had the most influence and contribution in the field.

Mathematics is divided into many highly interrelated branches, some objects of study are: set theory, logic mathematics, investigation operational, integer numbers, rational, irrational, natural, complex, calculus, equations, algebra, geometry.
