Oxidation is a process chemical that produces the transformation of a body as a consequence of the action of oxygen or an oxidant, which is that element or material that oxidizes, such is the case of oxygen which is considered an oxidant par excellence.
Whenever an element comes into contact with oxygen, with the air, basically, its oxidation is generated, however, mostly that occurs with the metallic elements that are exposed to direct contact with both oxygen and Water also.
So the oxidation process generates rust. Rust It is precisely a compound that is obtained by combining an element that is of metal with oxygen. Meanwhile, the oxide is easy to recognize at sight because a layer of brown and reddish color can be seen on the object in which this transformation was carried out. Any metal that is exposed to air or humidity undergoes this process and the aforementioned coloration in its appearance is certainly characteristic.
A clear example is obtained from observing the typical iron garden chairs that surely someone has seen in the grandmother's house or in some other old house... the passage of time and that
exposition the air and different climatic conditions over the years will generate the rust of these chairs. It should be noted that in recent years, that natural oxidation that iron undergoes has become a highly demanded trend at the request of decoration. Most of the people who like to acquire antiques especially look for iron pieces to be presented with that oxide because it gives them a estheticsingular that link with the history of the piece and also guarantees its authenticity in terms of seniority.
