Mbps is the acronym with which the concept of Megabit per second, which allows referring to that Unit that is used when measuring in quantity an amount of data that is equivalent at 1,000 kilobits per second or 1,000,000 bits per second. The kilobit per second is the unit of measurement used both in computing as in telecommunications to count the velocity of a transfer of data through a network, such as Internet; and the bit per second, at the request of also a transmission of information, it will be the number of elementary powers, such as 1 or 0, that are transmitted per second.
There are some common mistakes in relation to the concept at hand, which it is important to clarify to avoid confusion. On the one hand, this unit should not be referred to as a speed unit, as a consequence that the speed in which the data is disseminated does not correspond to the flow rate or the flow that is transmitted by a certain medium.
And on the other hand, a megabit should not be confused with the
mebibit (mega binary bit), which implies an information storage unit that is also called Mibit or Mib, as with the Mbps and hence the confusion. The mebibit is an extremely useful unit when it comes to measuring the capacity of RAM and ROM memory chips. It is important to mention, so that there is no confusion when it comes to appreciating the written acronym, that megabit per second is abbreviated as we mentioned at the beginning of the review as Mbps, although, the traditioninternational repeatedly uses the slash e division / instead of p.
