The subject It is a part of the sentence that syntactically has the function of executing, exercising or suffering what is expressed by the verb of a sentence. Remember that the verb is the core of the predicate of a sentence, and that the predicate in sentences with a subject is the syntactic function that will give us information regarding the subject.
In a sentence, we can find two types of subject according to the number of noun phrases and nuclei that have the function of being the subject of the sentence. Thus, we have the simple subject and compound subject.
The simple subject is the type of subject that has a single noun phrase and therefore, a core. The nucleus of a noun phrase can be a noun or noun, a pronoun, or some kind of substantiated word. In addition, this nucleus can be accompanied by a determinant and an adjacent one. The first has the function of determining the noun or pronoun, while the second has the function of modifying or complementing the noun or pronoun.
