Mythomaniac is anyone who has a mania for lying. The term comes from the Greek where mythos means lie and mania mania. So, mythomaniac is one who cannot stop lying but already in a compulsive way both voluntarily and involuntarily. Usually, the one who is described as a mythomaniac is understood as a person who suffers a disease since this condition hinders his social life and relationships. Many times, the term is used in the languagecolloquial to talk about people who are not completely mythomaniacal but who lie continuously.
The lie is an action that supposes to fail to the truth or to the reality of the facts. It is usually frowned upon in various social settings, although it is known that it is difficult to find a person who never lies. However, most people resort to occasional lies that may be to a greater or lesser degree but are not permanent. The case of the mythomaniac or the person who suffers from a mythomania is that of a person who cannot stop the lies, resorting to them even when it is not necessary because they are not in
danger its safety or the wishes of him.The mythomaniac is a person who constantly lies and who reaches a point where the social relationships that he maintains do not allow him to turn back the lies, but is increasingly entangled in them, turning the situation into a circle vicious that deepens and becomes more irrepressible.
Although it is difficult to detect a mythomaniac because their constant recourse to lies makes them people experienced in dissimulation, people who do not suffer from this pathology tend to distrust those that do and this means that the mythomaniac cannot maintain social relationships of friendship, family, from love or normal work like anyone else would.
