The words ending in -ema they can be nouns, adjectives, and verbs. For example: tema, extrema, rema.
Although they end in A, almost all nouns that have at the end -ema are masculine, because they come from Greek or Latin words that were neutral or masculine and they passed into Spanish as masculine. For example: theoryema, poema. But there are some exceptions that are female. For example: crema, gema.
