Example of Conditional 1

When we express two sentences in which one is the condition for the other to be fulfilled or carried out, we speak of a conditional. In English there are 4 types of conditionals that are classified with the numbers 0, 1, 2 and 3.
The conditional 1 or first conditional, is a conditional sentence in which a condition or current fact is established, from which, if it is fulfilled, then the result will be fulfilled.
The basic structure of a conditional 1 is: conditional particle if, followed by a prayer in the present tense (condition), a comma to separate the sentences, followed by the future tense sentence (Outcome):
If + condition (present simple) +, + result (future simple)
If I win the race, we will eat in Macy’s.
If you study, you will obtain a good job.
A variant of the first conditional is when it is used to give orders or suggestions. In this case, in the result sentence, the auxiliary verb will is changed to another modal verb that forms the imperative:
If you want money, you may work hard.
If you want a lot of money, you must work harder.
Negative forms. The first conditional can also be expressed in negative sentences. If we use the if conditional, then both sentences must be negative:
If He doesn’t win the race, he won’t obtain the prize.
I we don't wake up early, won't be on time at school.
Another way to write negative conditionals is to use unless instead of if. Unless means "unless", which gives a sense that the phrase it modifies is very likely not to be fulfilled. In this case, the condition sentence is positive, and the result sentence is negative:
Unless occurs a miracle, I won’t go to the trip.
Unless we have money before Monday, we won’t buy the car.
Sometimes the order of the sentences can also be reversed. In this case, the sentence of the result will be written first in the future simple and then the condition, preserving the conditional particle (if or unless), In this case the comma between the prayers:
I will become a doctor if I study hard.
I won't buy a computer unless I save money
