Horizontal Communication
The horizontal communication It is that communication that takes place in a company, business or organization between people of the same hierarchy. For instance: Graphic designers at an advertising company brainstorm ideas to make a logo sketch.
The objectives of horizontal communication are for people to be more involved in their work, exchange information and opinions and work together. When there is good communication between peers of the same company, there are many advantages, such as the speed of solutions, increased creativity, work is more dynamic and efficient and relationships between workers are top.
However, there may be some disadvantages, for example, it may decrease productivity, confrontations and confusion can occur if there is too much exchange of information.
To avoid these drawbacks, horizontal communication has to be assertive, clear, concise, coherent and concrete and can be both verbal and written.
