The Ritual Of Protest In Urban Marches

“Far from the topical image of a completely un-ritualistic and secularized modernity, the anthropology of the so-called “Complex societies”, has not stopped documenting the importance of the ritual dimension in the constitution of the social life of our days.

And thanks to the multiplicity of groups, the reasons are many and more and more people are gathering. For example, every year at the end of June the Gay community march takes place, which does not seek to make a fuss and stop traffic, that is not to say, they seek to end that mark that society puts on them, they seek freedom and as I mentioned before they meet at a point that for them is symbolic, such as the monument to Juárez, they choose this place because of the saying "Respect for the rights of others is peace", this means that these means of demonstrating have a reason and an elaboration previously thought. And in this specific case, they not only seek to say that there must be freedom and be present, no, it is also among the same group or community since this march is carried out I end up on sidewalks and streets since those who walk in the street say that they have "come out of the closet", so it is interesting to study what these urban marches have in the background. Since each one has specific purposes, and the members, the majority are aware of what they want to achieve.
