Reading this book seemed extremely interesting and useful to me, as it is directly related to the career we are currently pursuing, which is Business Administration.
This novel consists of forty chapters in which various events are narrated in a very real and understandable way, both personal and work, but related to each other through which the central character (Alex Rogo) goes through in the quest to become an outstanding manager and move the company forward in the one who works. Here we are shown the most viable way to find various solutions to the problems that companies go through.
We are taught that at all times we must take into account the human factor that works in it, since it is the most important, without it the company would not achieve the objectives and goals established and therefore would not exist as such and is clearly reflected at the time they decide to substitute this factor by robots that increase productivity and that the only thing they cause are excessive expenses and an overproduction that ends up bringing losses again; Through this it gives us to understand that technology is not always the best solution that a company must adopt to excel in a highly competitive market.
There must be high degrees of motivation and participation on the part of employees to ensure that they carry out their work properly and achieve maximum productivity feeling comfortable with what they are doing.
It also shows the resistance to change that all companies commonly present and the people who work in them prefer to continue working with methods to which they are accustomed to risk trying new ones that will bring great benefits as can be clearly seen in the case that is handled in this book.
In the first chapters we are given a global vision of the different aspects that can cause a company to go bankrupt and disappear, this to through the history of UniCo, the plant of which Alex is the manager and that he goes through a series of difficulties that do not allow him to work in a efficient, because there is a delay in the orders, the policies are not respected, there is no adequate division and specialization of the work, they have losses, etc.
It is presented that within a company it is very useful to have external advice, since there is a broader vision of the organization and the environment that surrounds it and that facilitates the solution of problems. In the reading Alex is counting on Jonah to cover this highly important aspect.
Alex, working jointly and in solidarity with the various departments that make up the company managed to move it forward, making it the best in the UniWare Division.
