It is considered a masterpiece of architecture and engineering due to the complexity and spectacularity of its construction in such a difficult place to build. In addition, its spectacular situation at a landscape level has made it a mysterious place, the main subject of much literature and much investigation from a scientific, esoteric and religious point of view. It is also one of the most important tourist spots in the world.
Currently, since 1983, it is heritage of humanity by Unesco and one of the seven wonders of the modern world since 2007. This historical and architectural complex is important for its historical information, worth the redundancy, which has contributed to many scientists, as well as the mystery that surrounds everything related to the same.
The rediscovery of its ruins around 1902, involved intense work in which countless archaeological pieces were obtained and, above all, the Inca culture was deeply known. Thanks to the state of conservation of the complex, a lot of information was obtained about the social division of this town, uses and customs, religious beliefs and, as an important point, which is currently being studied, the importance of astronomy for this town.
The importance of Machu Picchu lies in the fact that it was built in an area where earthquakes and copious rains are significant, and yet the buildings are They were built, precisely, to withstand not only earthquakes but, with a well-studied drainage system, to avoid all kinds of floods and the stagnation of water of rain. In addition, the constructions took into account astronomical criteria, as well as rituals. It has even been discovered that the alignment of some buildings coincides with the solar solstices and with points of sunrise and sunset at certain times of the year.

The importance of Machu Picchu lies in the veil that covers everything related to it with mystery. Every year millions of tourists come to its ruins to visit it, hundreds of scientists try to unravel the mysteries that still hides, but the most important thing is to wonder how such an ancient people was able to erect this construction, not only on that site, but with that technology was carried out, which to this day remains a mystery due to its perfection.
