Advertising is the set of actions and means that are used to publicize a product, idea, news or fact, through propaganda; It is a generally impersonal form of communication, which uses the available means of communication to convey a message in favor of something.

The concept of advertising is commonly used to designate the set of printed, electronic, or other media, which are used to promote a specific product, service, organization or project, focusing on consumers acquiring or using said product or service. Being used more for governmental, partisan, religious subjects etc, the term of propaganda.
Use different tools to attract potential consumers or clients, such as posters, video clips, music audios, letters, advertising printed, (personalized or not) and others, in which an optimal presentation of what is being promoted is made, sometimes by comparisons with similar products or services, exposing the advantages of the product being advertised to the detriment of another or others similar products.
Advertising has been known since the beginnings of commerce at the dawn of mankind; from the advertisements made through the human voice, which proclaimed the advantages of the product that a merchant sold or exchanged over the products of the rest, then going on to the announcements made in Egypt or Mesopotamia about a particular product, using clay tablets or texts advertising on papyri referring to products that were sold in certain regions, being used to purchase some products preferably others.
An example of this type of advertising can be found in ancient Rome, where there were walls on which a product or service was advertised, in the same way during the Middle Ages, the signs that were put up in bakeries, tailor shops, taverns, inns or blacksmiths, to indicate that these jobs were done or provided services. They were an advertising medium, which was exploited so much for people who could read, (by writing the signs), as well as the illiterate, through the use of images with which they caught the customer's attention.
Currently, advertising covers different media, both print and electronic mainly, without leaving aside the spoken advertising that is still used in squares and markets worldwide.
