Example of Uses of B

In the Spanish language as well as in our alphabet there are two letters with similar sounds, the “B"Which is pronounced"be”(Also called b labial or b large) and the “V” (which is called “bilabial v"Or v girl) the first is the one that we will deal with and its rules for proper use:

1.- The letter “b” must be used in the past imperfect, precisely in its indicative endings in the verbs “ar”.

• Dream = dreamed

• Think = thought

2.- All the words that end in bility, bunda and bundo are written with the letter “

• Vagabond = bunda
• Nauseous = bundo
• Kindness = gentleness

3.- With this letter the words that start with abo, abu and ebu are also written.

• Abuse = abu
• Abominable = abo
• Boiling = ebu

4.- Those that begin with bur, bus and buz are also written with this letter.

• Mailbox = mailbox
• Bureau = bur
• Bustamante = bus

5.- Many of the words that have “rr” are written with b, although there are words that have v as corrosive, wart, railway etc.

• Sweep = sweep
• Donkey = burr
• Delete = delete

6.- After the letter m the letter b is also written.

• Ambulance
• Ambiguous
• Man

7.- Verbs that end in “aber” along with their conjugations are written with the letter b, and precaution is excepted.

• Have = aber
• Fit = aber
• Know = aber

8.- The b is also used in all verbs ending in bir, buir together with their conjugations, except to live, boil and serve.
