A bibliographic record of a journal, is the bibliographic record in which the main data of a journal are classified, making mention of of the subject or subjects dealt with in the journal, and of the author or authors of the articles contained therein.
The data contained in a bibliographic record of a journal, They are:

- Journal number
- Journal periodicity
- Year and date of issue.
- Number of pages
- Theme of the magazine.
- Journal article or articles.
- It may or may not have a Note or a small Summary of the topic or topics covered in the journal to which the bibliographic file belongs.
- Decimal notation.
