If there is an element that is basic for a motor from combustion internal that is precisely the piston. Basically we call a piston a kind of plunger that fits inside the walls of the cylinder thanks to a series of rings with flexible characteristics that we call segments.
The fluid inside the cylinder significantly modifies its volume and pressure as a consequence of the reciprocating piston movements thing that finally becomes nothing more and nothing less than movement.
Then that reciprocating motion initial becomes rotary movement through the articulation between the connecting rod and in the crankshaft (in the latter actually). So that the function of the piston is to direct the force generated by the combustion of the mixture to the connecting rod (which then drifts it to the crankshaft).
The piston It is formed as follows: piston head Y Skirt.
In the piston head (and closing it) is the crown which is responsible for withstanding the strong impact caused by the expansion of
gases of combustion and that, incidentally, is made of ultra-resistant and lightweight materials. Under the Crown (also forming part of the piston head) are housed the rings and just under the head is where it is Skirt. The piston can also be part of the engines, from bombs Y compressors and is usually manufactured in a aluminium alloy. The piston is cylindrical and for your manufacturing the highest technologies are implemented in order to seek maximum precision in what makes the measurements and achieve the endurance adequate so that the part can withstand heavy wear caused by the temperature and constant movement.
ThepistonsThey are adjusted in such a way as to leave a very small space with the walls of the cylinder to contemplate in this way the expansion of the metal because of the temperature and so that the lubricant finally circulates there.
