It is known by the name of Caribbean to the sea that is located around America Central and that separates North America from South America. The Caribbean is one of the largest seas on the planet and famous for its beautiful beaches, its clear waters and its endless tourist possibilities. In the Caribbean there are hundreds of islands and islets that, for the most part, belong to or were the possession of European states or to USA. In addition, this sea also bathes the coasts of almost all the countries of Central America.

The Caribbean is not only the sea but this name is also used to designate the area that includes the islands and countries, which has a weather humid and tropical and that has geographic characteristics common to the entire region. It gets its name from the indigenous Caribbean tribe that inhabited parts of the region when the Spanish arrived.

Normally, the division politics of the Caribbean areas establishes four main regions: the Central American countries that have their coasts bathed by this sea, the Greater Antilles, the Lesser Antilles and the Bahamas Islands (although technically these are already in the

Ocean Atlantic, near the coast of the North American state of Florida). Among the Greater Antilles we must mention islands such as Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola (which includes the countries of Haiti and Republic Dominicana) and Puerto Rico (territory not independent possession of the United States). In addition, among the Lesser Antilles we can mention Trinidad and Tobago, the Virgin Islands, Aruba, the Netherlands Antilles, Margarita, Martinique, Guadeloupe and many others.

The Caribbean is recognized as one of the most important and sought-after tourist destinations in the world due not only to the beauty of its islands and coasts, but also also to the naturalness of its spaces (some being almost virgin), to the kindness of its people and the color of the cultures that characterize each territory.
