Aeronautical Sciences is an academic proposal oriented to the world of aviation. The professional of this discipline You can focus your activity on different functions: as an airline pilot, in the management of an airport, in the management of a commercial line or in airport systems.
Aeronautical Sciences have two fields of action: the military and the civil field. In the first case, the knowledge is aimed at the military defense of a nation and in the civil world there is a multidisciplinary approach.
Civil Aviation
Academic studies focus on three distinct axes. On the one hand, human Resources, that is, the professionalization of future workers in the sector, who become familiar with matters such as transport freight, aviation medicine, safety, aircraft inspection, flight simulation or right of passengers, among many other areas.
The second axis of study is related to aviation technology (fuselage systems, aircraft structure, electronics, navigation systems, radars ...). The last axis is related to infrastructures, that is, aerodromes, airports national and international heliports, as well as knowledge of commercial routes and the air traffic.
Aeronautical technical personnel can be a pilot, an air traffic controller or dedicated to flight management, all of these tasks being highly technical. These technicians have to interact with other professionals in the sector (for example, flight attendants or personnel dedicated to the meteorology). These activities are associated with a very specific field, the investigation aeronautics and space.
Aeronautical Research
Research projects are essential for the aeronautical industry. Research lines can focus on the following aspects: new materials (nanomaterials or nanodevices), the nanometric scale, inorganic materials or the study of navigation systems by satelite. Likewise, there is a permanent analysis to improve research on actions associated with aviation. (for example, in medical examinations, inspection systems or the delimitation of responsibilities).
The strategic value of aeronautical Sciences
The world of aviation as a whole is of strategic value in many ways and on many levels. In fact, it has direct links with tourism, with mobility in a territory and with other industrial sectors. Thus, aeronautical sciences represent the basic knowledge to project a navigation industry that, in turn, is connected with different economic sectors of a country.
