The potential concept refers to everything that is proper or associated with power.
That proper or linked to the power that is the ability to act and the energy that is displayed
Power is recognized as the ability to execute or do something and also as the Energy, power and force that someone or something has and that then allow you to achieve objectives that a priori are presented as complex or even unattainable.
Power in this sense is considered a positive quality that people can present because it precisely allows them to achieve difficult goals.
That which is possible happens or exists
When we talk about potential we are also talking about a possibility of what can happen or exist, of a assumption, since this idea is based on a more or less exact calculation that the entity referred to can be estimated to have.
Thus, the potential can be applied not only to a person but also to chemical, physical and mathematical phenomena.
Let's think about a medication that is in the process of
investigation, it will be talked about, as his effectiveness has not yet been demonstrated, about his potential power to combat this or that disease.Once tested and proven to be reliable, it will no longer be considered a potential medicine.
The most common use that is given to the word potential is when it refers to the capacity that a person can have to do something.
The capacity that someone has to occupy a job or place
Thus, it is very common to say that someone has the potential to work in a certain position, to take care of something or to aspire to something due to the capabilities, attitudes and characteristics that he has presented throughout the weather.
That potential can be made up of innate characteristics of the person, that is, they were born with it and it carries them with you from day one of life and they usually pave the way for you to achieve certain issues more fast.
And on the other hand the skills may have been acquired through study and training to which the person was subjected.
Clear examples of this are when talking about the potential that a child can have as a future athlete, scientist or intellectual depending on the area in which he excels.
Another very common example today has to do with the workplace, where it talks about the potential that a person can have to aspire to a position, a promotion, etc.
In this particular case, the personal capacities are combined with the professional ones that an individual has and that, when merged, tend to be key for a person to access a job.
The potential is based on the merits or abilities that the person in question has shown over time.
The potential can also be applied to a company, a business, a group of people, a team and even a nation.
Thus, it is common to hear about the potential that a sports team has to meet the ultimate goal of obtaining a championship.
It is also normal to hear the expression of the economic, military, arms, cultural potential, etc., that a country can have.
On the other hand, it is important to emphasize that potential is usually associated with success, with victory, since Those capacities that someone or a group has are known to be the keys indicated to achieve the objectives proposed.
When two nations clash in one conflict war, and knowing the capabilities that each has, it will be easy to predict which will be victorious, if one has a greater capacity over the other.
All these cases and examples tell us about assumptions and estimates that are made based on more or less data specific and a future projection (short, medium or long term) on the characteristics of the person, entity or institution to which it is being pointed.
Now, it is important that we say that these capacities will not always turn out to be positive or successful and for example it is important not to create false expectations in oneself or in others to avoid So feelings of failure.
In the field of Grammar, the potential is a verb mode that is used when you want to express a possible action: I could help you if you left me in this verbal mode it is known as conditional also.
