The concept of re-election is a concept that is used mainly in the field of the politics to refer to the act by which a person holding an eligible political office can stand for reelection after the end of his term in office. Not all political positions are eligible but many are and normally some of them allow reelection, while others do not, and this may also vary from region in region or country in country.
Normally, when we talk about the idea of political reelection, we are referring to regimes that carry out the democratic model that is supposed to be the town and not God or the same official who chooses the members who are part of the government. Thus, for the democracy, political and public positions are characterized by being dynamic and favoring the alternation of different people as time passes.
If we start from the idea that it is the people who elect their representatives, if a person wanted to stand permanently for the same position and the people elect her, there would be no crime. This, however, goes against the idea of alternation in power that prioritizes democracy and whose objective is to prevent individuals from becoming entrenched in their positions as happens with other political models such as the monarchy or the
autocracy. This is why the figure of political reelection is always somewhat controversial in the field of democracy and although there are countries that allow it in an unlimited way because they trust the idea that in last instance will always be a decision of the people, others limit or restrict it to once or twice in order to prevent the individual in question from trying to perpetuate himself in power. Finally, there are other countries in which the reelection of public officials or politicians is not directly allowed.
