A utility is a toolcomputing that provides support for the purposes of developing and executing different programs.
For the computing, the utility tools perform three types of tasks: maintenance, support in the configuration and execution of programs and other tasks in general. Examples of utilities are disk defragmenters or file decryption programs.
In a computer system there are different types of applications and tools that fulfill various complementary functions. It is understood that the end user receives the benefits of the operation of the hardware running a operating system and other programs simultaneously or alternately. Among the programs app Utilities are counted, which fulfill different very specific facilitation and support functions.
The utilities are usually simple applications but, of course, very useful in daily, frequent or precise operations that are not covered by other larger applications.
The most common utilities include information compressors or compressors. The most common are WinZip and WinRar, which allow data and files to be compressed into folders for easy transportation from one system to another. The same software makes it easy to decompress the files once they have reached their destination for use.
Other utilities are file managers such as Windows Explorer, to search for files in the different memory units of a computer. FTP programs or network file transfer protocols are also utilities. And on the other hand, this list includes remote control tools for computers, which allow you to operate with a computer from another located in a different location.
Utilities are highly popular applications, and each operating system often includes a default package of these, based on the most common actions performed by the typical user. Many others can be downloaded via Internet.
