The word spinning is an Anglicism that comes from the verb To spin, which means to spin. Spinning is an exercise modality that is based on the bicycle static traditional but with more advanced technology.
At the gym or at home
Spinning is a training system similar to cycling and that adapts to the sporting offer of gyms or to one's own home. It can be practiced by amateur athletes who want to stay in shape or by elite athletes as a method in their physical preparation (for example, cyclists practice it in bad weather). One of its main characteristics is the possible incorporation of the music to energize spinning sessions.
This training system became popular in the United States in the late 1980s and has now spread throughout the world. Like running and other sports, spinning has its own world: tutorial videos, specialized shoes, various accessories, etc.
Strengthening the cardiovascular part, as well as the abdominal area, buttocks and legs
This exercise is eminently cardiovascular, so it favors our ability to
endurance. It is very useful to burn calories and lose weight and as the body does not impact the ground, some injuries are avoided. From a muscular point of view, it tones the buttocks, legs and abdomen. When a consumption from Energy elevated, this produces a reduction in stress levels and an improvement in sleep. The spinning classes are led by a monitor specialized, who guides the attendees on the different exercises, body positions, intensity in the velocity, resistance level, etc. Do not forget that some spinning bikes provide very useful information to the athlete (about the kilometers that he has traveled, his heart rate or the calories consumed).
Recommendations for the practice of this sport
The monitors insist on the importance of some technical recommendations (for example, the height of the saddle and the handlebars, which must be adapted to each athlete in order to avoid inappropriate postures and injuries, especially in the back). On the other hand, it is advisable to start the session with a progressive warm-up and at the end it is very convenient to perform stretching exercises.
A spinning session can be approached in several ways, since it is possible to practice it alone, in company, with or without music, at the air free and even with some complementary exercises.
