The term festival is used to describe those events that are characterized by having numerous acts and that can last several days in one or more places as well. Unlike isolated shows, a festival also has as one of its main characteristics the fact that it lasts many hours even if it lasts only one day, that is, it does not start and end in a couple of hours like most events and shows. At the same time, a festival has the power to bring together many more people since the variety of acts and the advertising that is given to the festival itself are much older.
The word festival is related to the idea of party or celebration. This then has to do with the realization of a party or celebration that is characterized by a certain type of activity and that seeks to call the attention of a certain type of public (although in general that public can be open and very diversified). Festivals have been celebrated since time immemorial since human beings always looked for a way to express their ideas, beliefs and traditions with
joy, exhilaration and fun. Among the most traditional festivals we find those carried out by the Greeks on Mount Olympus (the famous Olympics), national festivals in all nations, the carnivals of beginning of the year and those that take place when the seasons change, among many others.Today, festivals are held for many purposes and various objectives. First of all, the festivals of art, music Y dance They are the most common since these cultural expressions are always very well received by people. Thus, festivals that bring together many artists and musicians can last several days and receive thousands of people from all over the world. There are also many festivals with solidarity objectives and in that case the support of the people can be even greater. These festivals usually donate proceeds or ask food non-perishable to be delivered to those they serve.
