We do not all have the same needs in relation to Internet; Most Internet users download much more data (for example, movies, music, streaming television, ...) than those who upload to the network, but a minimum percentage of Internet users and many companies require uploading to the network both volume data like the one they download.
Two identical channels
The Internet connections that we enjoy in our homes and businesses offer us two channels: one through which we download the information, and the other through which we upload it.
Due to the use we usually make of the Internet, downloading more information than we upload, our connections are asymmetrical, giving us a greater download flow than upload.
Let's think for a moment about the use we make of our Internet: we watch YouTube videos, we listen to music from Spotify, we see the multimedia contents of social networks Facebook and Twitter,... all this implies a download volume that multiplies the volume of data upload by several orders, so that with an asymmetric connection we make better use of the "tube" provided by the operator to access Internet.
What is done in symmetric connections is that the upload capacity is equal to the download capacity to satisfy the specific needs of a series of specific applications, such as those mentioned above, that need to upload more data than what it's a Username habitual.
Why do we need a symmetric connection?
If, for example, we upload video to the Internet, this is a contents that is heavy, that takes up a lot of space and, consequently, in an asymmetric connection, does not go up to the network with excessive speed.
With a symmetrical connection, and a equality of channels, content that occupies a wide bandwidth can upload more efficiently.
Likewise, for those who like video games, a symmetrical connection allows them to play games over the Internet with less lag, that is to say, that the game is not interrupted.
It also lightens the performance of those computers or devices that make several simultaneous connections to the network by uploading content in one way or another.
The fact that fiber is also the form of connection that offers the greatest velocity Right now, it allows us that with a symmetric connection of this type we can upload data to the Internet in the fastest way.
