Example of Active Voice and Passive Voice

Two types of verbal voices that exist in Spanish are called active voice and passive voice. The verbal voice It is a phenomenon of linguistic construction that allows us to differentiate what type of relationship is established between the subject, the verb and the objects in the sentence.
Active voice
The active voice is the one we find in the active sentences; in this type of verbal voice the subject, called agent subject, is the one who exercises or performs the verbal action, and said action may fall on a direct complement. That is, there is an active relationship between the subject and the verb:
- "Fernando walks the dog": the action of walking the dog is done by the subject Ferdinand; the action falls on the complement to the dog.
- "The technician restarted the team": the action of Restart the system is done by the subject The technician; the action falls on the complement the team.
Passive voice
The passive voice is the one that we find in passive sentences; in this voice a passive relationship is established between the subject and the verb. The subject, called the patient subject, suffers or is the recipient of the verbal action. In this type of verbal voice, an agent complement may appear, headed by the preposition
for, said complement informs us who performs the action:- "The dog is walked by Fernando": the action of take a walk falls on the subject The dog (patient subject); the agent complement by Fernando tells us who performs the action of
- "The equipment was restarted by the technician": the patient subject The team is the recipient of the action restart; the agent complement by the technician expresses who performs the action of restart (the technician).
